This limited edition frame is brand new. It was built to commemorate Giovanni Battaglin’s win in the Giro’d Italia in 1981. This frame is number 45, out of a total 65.
65 were built as a celebration for Giovanni’s 65th birthday. To show the level of respect shown to Battaglin, Castelli remade 65 of his winners jersey- in the same fabric, same flocked letters as the 1981 version. These were signed by Giovanni with a message to each owner of the frames.
Also, Columbus remade the SL tubing (production had stopped some time ago), specifically for the Battaglin ‘Collezione speciale’ framesets.
